No vauxhall 16v engine is valve safe.

The small block 8v ones are.

The big block 8v ones arent, but just snap the sacrificial rockers so are an easy fix.


I assume his is a 16v ecotec engine for that model and year, so will be a world of pain no doubt.

Generally the pistons are ok though, and a new head will sort it (or new valves and guides in the old head, but secondhand complete head is very cheap)
