Yes pressure as the name implies

You could always try bridgeing the wires as a test, there is a special Ford tool needed to remove it, although you may be able to improvise something.

I can't remember the figures off hand but the system works under very high pressure, hence the warning triangle on the Accumulator, so make sure you are comptent in what you are doing before dismantling the system!
