it dont matter how old your car is or wot miles it has covered it should in theory be receiving the same test at every test. as an mot tester myself i can assure you it is necessary to open the bonnet and it does also take a small blip of the throttle to pop the car out of the brake rollers and if i thought a car had an exhaust blowing i would also rev it for that. sounds like a tit though
