ESPN buyin the television rights kinda killed it this year. daves coverage, however poor, at least brought WRC to the masses. few people have a sports tv package, and even fewer bother with ESPN. the motors tv coverage is substantial enough to keep enthusiasts satisfied, but not exactly happy. they only have rights for mostly in-car stuff, hardly any cameras out on stage, im guessing again due to ESPN owning the main broadcast rights. shame really

what happened to the days in the late 80s and early 90s where i think it was bbc who had the rally review show, and the RAC rally had an evening slot at prime time on a main channel! and then live mickey mouse style stages in the afternoon!

main thing britain needs is another british rallying star, like mcrae and burns. that will get people taking notice again. so hopefully matthew wilson can make headway, and meekes! if ken block can almost single handedly make rallying huge over the pond, it cud be done over here with the right star and the right marketing
