No they diden't, you shoulden't need anything configuring though if you merely just want the siren replaced?
You need a laptop with a RS232 serial port or you don't have a laptop period?

Yes you press the two left buttoms similtaneously with the ignition off (With the stars) this should enter "Valet mode" which will be indicated by the alarm LED staying on static, opposed to flashing, and the indicators flashing briefly.
Be AWARE this also disables the immobiliser, and valet mode is reset when the ignition is switched on.
Thats a Focus or Mondeo I should think you have?
