Hi

I've been having problems with my locks on my 2001 Fiesta for a while now. First the drivers side lock packed so I could lock it but not unlock it. I know this happens quite a bit because its a bit of a faulty system, but I didn't mind too much and I just unlocked the car from the passenger side.

Next the door handle on the passenger side broke so I had to go to the passenger side to unlock the car and then get in through the driver side and then open the passenger door from the inside if I had a passenger.

Now it seems to have given up completely and won't lock at all. Both from the driver side and the passenger side, if I try to lock the car it makes the sound of locking and then unlocking as if there was a door still open. I've tried taking off the door card and looking inside at the lock but I don't really know what I'm looking for. The switch on the inside of the car door that tells it whether a door is open seems ok, the lock and all the wiring seem ok. It all seems ok. I soaked pretty much everything in the door in WD40. I even tried taking out the fuse for the central locking so that I could lock each door manually, as I think the problem might be in the central locking system, but it didn't make a difference. I've tried pretty much anything I can find on forums.

Is there anyone who can possibly give me any advice if this has happened to you before or if you know what the problem may be??? It would be greatly appreciated.
