Technically it was your wifes obligation to give way as she was joining the carriageway. Always difficult when cars park so close you can barely see and everytime you do it you take a risk you dont necessarily even perceive.

IF the other car was speeding and this can be proven (skid marks etc) then it will probably go 50:50, otherwise fair or not it will be her fault.
