Me and a mate are wondering if its possible to fit a mondeo tdci 6 speed into escort tdi's. Basically my mate has an estate with a tuned tdi engine and he's after another gear for cruising speed on the motorway, as hes after lowing his rpm's.

So I have quite a few questions if anybody is able to help,

Is the box mtx based or a getrag

Is it compatible with the 240mm clutch and flywheel currently fitted

Another mate has said use the pedal box, shafts, selector cables , hubs from a st170 and mondeo tdci box then fab up the mount for it.

I have seen a few st170 boxes in fiesta mk3's so its possible to get it into a escort, maybe i should read them threads on how they did it.
