a mate of mine showed me a funny article about the bobby.
can't remember where in the uk it was but there were two traffic officers out on patrol using a laser trap pointed at a brow of a hill with the idea of clocking traffic before they had chance to see them, anyway they could'nt understand why when a car came over the brow the laser showed 300mph then jammed and would'nt work again so they had to return to the station and report what had happened.
It later transpired that the laser had in fact missed the car and locked onto a RAF Tornado out on a training exercise, so the commanding officer wrote to RAF telling them what had happened.
The reply from the RAF read something along the lines of thankyou for your letter but we were already aware of the occurance due to the Tornado's on board defence computer recorded the fact that it did indeed detect your unidentified laser, locked onto it, whilst jamming the signal and arming it's air to ground sidewinders which were not automatically fired due to the dutch pilot's comman sense of overriding the auto defence system as soon as it notified him of the potential thread .
