If your determined for to attempt a FTO v6 then why not spend a small amount extra and opt for a VR4 engine. Its 'apparantly' a common mod to drop these into FTO's. They are a 2.5 v6 and twin turbo.

Bit more work, but then putting a Mitsubishi engine into a Ford isnt going to be straight forward anyway.

I would be looking into a ST170 engine, get it up and running, then venture on ITB's or forced induction. Afterall, they probably weigh the same and both the 170 engine and the Mitsi V6 have approx 170bhp.
