I bet you can't supply a 250hp na yb for as much as a s2000 engine, don't forget they have 240hp as standard and that's no more than £2500 with a gearbox and everything, full running package. Fit a ecu and you can massively improve the mid range over standard.
I'll take a guess that a yb head supplied and ported with throttle bodies is atleast a couple of grand and that's not Inc the valvetrain, pulleys, pistons, ecu, gaskets oil pump and bearings. Then you have a gearbox to buy so that's another grand or more.
Not knocking them as I think their great but having been down the route of doing something like this nothing is in the same league as the Honda engine for the money, not even close.
It's the same with pintos, 200hp is a lot of money ! A stock Xe on tb,s and the mildest Kent cams gives a very reliable 200hp and the core engine is £200 "if" it ever went wrong.
Ford engines generally are very expensive to modify, atleast in na trim
