Problem with the s3 (mk1) is they look so dated now.

there are plenty of good ones about for sale at the moment, most owners are asking too much, but you should be able to pick one up in good condition with around 80k for £7k
i have seen them sell for sub £6k recently, and 9k will get you a fairly modded car with 50k.
(worth it, as stage 1 with Ap's could be £4k easy)
