You can use it on 'modern stuff' if that modern engine has been adapted to run it as you pointed out. But you can't just chuck veg in any diesel car and expect it not to cause problems.
i havent talked about any engine adaptations only heating the oil with a tank heater system built into the tank or a new tank with a heater system
