how hard is it to remove/refit a tyre diy at home?

reason i ask is cos if it snows early like they are saying i have a set of snow chains, but dont want to shag the alloys so will use them on a pair of steelies from the scrappers, but they all have fucked tyres on.

i have 3 spare pirelli p6000 at home home with decent tread so will bang one of those on and just take it for balancing.

it cant be that hard can it, using levers etc not worrying about the rim.
