That advice would be correct IF we were talking about the 1.8 4 pot version but the 75 & ZT 2.5 KV6 does not suffer with this, the early KV6 as fitted to the late Rover 800 series did have a few issues but these were resolved for the newer car.

Timing belts can take a while if you haven't done them before, I dropped the engine and subframe on our old car and had the job done in about 5 hrs.
