Hi guys,
Ive started work on my car again since ive moved it back home and ive started cutting out the metal that is rotten with rust.
Ive removed the boot floor as im replacing it to accomodate a fuel tank. Now the rear chassis legs were pritty rotten and need cleaning up. Ive already repaired the rot but now ive taken the boot floor out i could cut out my repairs and remaining chassis legs,
then replace the boot floor with one peice of sheet metal and weld the chassis legs back in afterwards
is this a wise idea? im new to welding so i dont know how far i can go.
this is what i have at the moment now ive cut the floor out
you can see my repairs at the top and the remaining escort chassis leg at the bottom. Shal i cut the lot out and start again? if so what shall i use to replace them? Same size same thickness top hat style or is there something else i should use?
these are my repairs from underneath before i choped the floor out
