I would firstly do a service and change the oil, this would be true of any car I brought!
Anyway onto the car itself, firstly you want to check your fans have been rewired, and if not do so.
The fan wiring was substandard when new, leave alone now and it's a surprise if the fans do actually work on the standard wiring, usually the fuse melts in the fusebox.
You can buy looms pre made from MSD etc, or it's easy enough DIY if your good with electrics!
The fuel pump wiring also suffers with age as it builds resistance, thus the pump cannot draw the power it needs and so you can end up with a meltdown!
The above are two chronic weak points!
It depends what it's mapped for really but I just use standard unleaded.
I think "Reyland" may be near you.
Toad alarms are quite well rated (I believe the AI06) is the model in particular, I personally have a Clifford which also get quite good reviews.
Personally I woulden't have anything other than a Cat 1 system!
I assume you do have a current solution otherwise I should think no one would insure you!
Is it standard at the moment? If so thats very rare, but if it is the next logical step would be a stage 1 conversion, this is the easiest conversion, merely requiring a re-map, this will see circa 280HP and importantly more torque!
