I wasnt saying it wouldnt work. It makes sense that the map sensor and TPS would detect greater intake at less load and inject accordingly. If i went the route of using standard ECU and wiring i'd need to at least get it on a rolling road to get fuelling double checked through the rev and load range.
It's just with the two engines being quite different they will no doubt burn their mixture slightly different.
It'd be interesting to know if the xr2i 8v and 16v looms are the same or not, i assume the 16v has added lambda wiring, and probably CPS. they wouldnt be longer than an hour or so to add into an EFi escort loom to run a 16v fiesta ECU...
