Just a small update.

Started on the car yesterday to check it over and get it ready for the bodyshop. Left house at 8am and got back in at 12.30am so a long day!

Picked up a tailgate, 3 headlights and 2 tail lights for the car and got it all for a really good deal. Chuffed with that.

List of jobs on car was small ish but everything takes umpteen times longer than you reckon.

To change the tailgate first you need to get the wiring loom out of it, which is fairly complicated as it goes up the near side of the boot in an inch square opening then onto the actual car body behind the high level brake light. Then you have to get it back in but my mate had the ingenious idea of threading a bit of electrical wire through then pull it through. It went it fairly easy at that.

I haven't even started the process of fixing the tailgate boot pins in, or the rear spoiler holes either, as it was a non ST boot I bought. Just ran out of time.

Also stripped off the front panel. Luckily the front bumper decided to depart the car at the start of the accident so that saved a bit of money, as when the car landed back on it's nose it's came down with such a force that it's snapped off half the front panel, bent the radiator and with it the fan & it's housing, bent the oil filter and also knocked one of the gear selector cables off and smashed the clips on the inside of that.

I've then rebuilt the front end with new / used parts so it's looking good again. Filled up the water and run for a while to check no leaks, all good news.

At the end of the day we checked all the camber settings. This was probably the most important part to make sure wheels still pointed in roughly the right direction. Good news is they all do with some slight changes on the OS wheels, but nothing to worry about.

The car will now be off to the bodyshop and we will hopefully get it back the week before the race. The race meeting this time is on a Saturday and testing is on Friday evening which I can't make due to work. Hoping to make a tracknight on the Wednesday though.
