Well that was an absolute disaster of a day racing at Knockhill yesterday.

Spun off in Race 2 and car went into tyre wall. Damage is fixable but it's depressing to see and to even think on getting the whole repair process started. It's also royally fecked my championship now. A 2 point gap at the beginning of the weekend is now 31 and with 100 available my view on it now is to forgot about it, go for wins and if it comes back to me so be it.

Had a bit of a stiff neck for the past day since the accident and I've been severly down in the dumps!





The day started OK. In qualifying I felt I never got a good clean lap, and was utterly dejected. I was amazed then when I learnt I was 2nd on grid with a 62.5 second lap, which is by no means slow!

Race 1 became a (mild) disaster when I got into lead then spun at first corner. Down to last of the ST's. But I then fought back to 3rd and with my championship rival finishing 2nd it wasn't a bad result all in all.

Race 2 was all to play for starting 3rd on grid. I got a slightly bad start and was keeping pace with the leading two. I dropped slightly from them then an XR2 just wouldn't let me by! It cost me a good 4 - 5 seconds. Then at the start of lap 8 I went through Duffus with loads of understeer, turned left at Leslie's and as soon as I came over the kerb the back end let go. I steered into it but it was well gone and I was heading over until I hit the tyre wall. It spun me round and I landed back on my wheels in the gravel trap.

After the race a lot of people were saying an XR2 had been off at that part of the circuit and brought loads of dirt and gravel back on the track. We'll never know if that truly was the cause or not.

The car is getting repaired but I feel it will still be a race against time to get out for the next meeting on September 10th.
