Mines 'clicking', is it fooked?

The power lead is a bit suspect, up until now I've never noticed the bare wires coming from it

The drive itself is not powering up at all, the light isnt coming on and its clicking.
I've done various t'internet searches, alot says its the wire, quiet alot says its the drive

Anyone had experience of this???
Its a lacie 1 tb
