been asked to post this question from a mate of mine so here go's

2.8 gearbox went! it cruches i think

so he got a box off ebay from a 2.8 was listed as galaxy but has a dbv code on it ( which seems to be a vw code )

he has fitted it works ok apart from it revs really high 5 th gear 80 mph is about 5500 revs ish seems far to high !

have looked about on the web and the ford uses a vxt75 gearbox ??

anyone clear this up for me please and also if the vw box is no good can you use 2.3 galaxy box ?
