AP, better ?, really better for what, certainly the best out there by a long way for emptying your wallet that is.
Certain ap's are better at certain things, racing was mentioned, are you racing ?, beware a vast majority of racing calipers don't have the same seal arrangement for keeping out crap/dirt etc that road based calipers have.
Cost, is this an issue, like it is with most ?, so do you need to buy a far better product than the one you need, would the willwoods do what you want perfectly and safely at a far reduced cost ?
Personally I'd have TAROX over AP any day of the week, reputations gained in racing aren't always appropriate or transfered over to road use.
There's nothing wrong with willwoods, have used them myself, fitted a set years back to a mustang, willwood T10's, and 380mm discs, nothing wrong at all.
Maybe a better question would be, "do I need to pay over inflated prices for a product that is not going to work any better on what I'm using it on".
The reason I like TAROX is due to them having THREE seals on each piston, and being the simplest caliper in the world to rebuild should it be needed, with std "O" rings for seals.
I don't know why AP supplied rod with a disc that clearly wasn't up to the job, I would have thought they would known better, for the price they charge!!!!!!!!!!!
