You look around the battery for extra wires going to the new relay for the fuel pump and again for the fans would be a good start.
Although the fans work they did even when brand new melt fuse boxes, and cause fires in extreme cases, let alone with 20+ year old wiring.
Any new wires/relays for fans should be very obvious, as should wiring alterations to fuel pump circuit.
I would change the CTS, coolant temp sensor, about £12 new and SO important to good running decent fuelling.
