Jambo, I DONT WANT AN AVA CAM. Comprendez?? I used it as an example. Regarding my cam, I have decided what profile I want and am fairly confident that it will work, but in theory haven't yet decided who I will have make it. I have done the research, asked the questions and also am taking the risk. If that cam works and I decide to have a few done, then I sure aren't going to let the company that simply punched a few numbers in on a machine claim the credit for it. Sure they will get a 'Thank you' for helping and they will get paid for their work, but essentially it will be an APT cam.
The engine in a Seat Cupra 20v Turbo was made by Volkswagen. Oh, but hold on, it doesn't have a Volkswagen badge on it. Now thats funny isn't it?
Some companies switch manufacturers. They might have a spec for something, but will take production wherever they can get it most cost-effective. It still keeps the same name, regardless of who made it.
The AVA spec'd Newman Cam thing is a load of bollocks. Just let it go. As I said before, I didn't do this to rub anyone up the wrong way, but there was a point that had to be proven and a question to be answered. That has been done.

Thats the MAIN reason that Tony cant run one.
We really want him to be able to get to some shows/events this year as, more than anyone I know, he really deserves to enjoy his car.
