I do around 30k business miles a year around London and therefore treated myself to a 56 plate Ford Fiesta Zetec S TDCI. The car has 25k on the clock and as far as I am aware is in fine fettle.

The book quotes 72mpg as possible, but I never for a second thought I would achieve this and would be over the moon with 60mpg. Well all I can say is how disapointed I am. If I drive it like a complete snail with no air con on I can just squeeze it to 54mpg if I put my boot in (and I dont mean really thrashing it just enjoying the torque) it drops to 41!!

My ST TDCI Mondeo does 48-50 and that gets booted everywhere it goes!

I bought it from a Ford main dealer and have a month of warrenty left. Do you think I should ask for it to be checked over, I changed the fuel filter myself and this has made no difference!

How do other people get on with them? Two friends reckon theirs are always around the 60-65mpg mark, if driven sensibly.
