i used to have a se500 with the same prob.If u unplug the wiring from the motor,make up a short lead and connect it to battery the roof should go up or down depending and which way you got the wires.swap the wires over and the roof should go the other way.mine wasnt working due to a faulty relay in the back near the pump.
