There is a reason why you have lost oil/water. This could be a symptom of a snapped rod or something related to the failure. Or it could have been the catalyst towards the failure. That would need investigating.

We're in Preston and would charge roughly in the region of £650 to swap a Mondeo engine including fluids so you can use that as a guide. There is usually other things that need replacement once you start stripping though.
