My mondeo st tdci has started the same thing,done it 3 times on ten min drive then once when on tick over.
When it starts flashing the car starts juddering like it's going to konk out.

Chances are with your engine it's either the injectors or the fuel pump, common problems again for this engine. Looking £1000+ no matter which one it is.
