This is why on my V6's, the first thing ive changed is the waterpump, to a metal impellar one. ford were aware of the fault, and did revise the waterpump with a stronger plastic, but i still play it safe, and use a metal impellar pump, for the sake of £50, and a half hour job, it gives you peace of mind
