As I wrote I'm not in hurry, right now I'm collecting $$$ - for me parts are 2-3 times more expensive than for you. The beginning of the project is planned for the next year, I plan just to put stock engine, except throwing out catalytic converter and putting "expansion muffler" (hope I used a good word) and modifying exhaust system, which is the thing that blocks engine the most.
I've already have endura 1.3, and that can be problem when we're talking'bout electrical installation, but as I wrote I've got interim version, and thats mean I have mk4 with installation from mk5, and friend of mine said that means I will not have to modify electrical installation. I've allready got A/C and I don't want to get rid of it.
With a friend we planned the first, theoretical specification (mainly prepared for blacktop):
1) Engine, Zetec: silver or black; duratec or MZR from mazda
2) gearbox from Puma 1.7 - got any other propositions?
3) Coller from 1.8d, because of much bigger diameter of input and output, and because input and out put are from the side of driver(European)/passenger(UK), like in zetec
4) engine-mountings from 1.25 or 1.4
Allready done:
- Rear beam with drum brakes from xr2i - diameter changed from 180 to 203. And I think it's enough, because the rear side of Fiesta is very light.
- Weitec Ultra GT 35/35
Front brakes are still stock, I don't see any reason for changing them for now, but I'm thinking about brakes from essie rs2k, p&p. Any other propositions?
