Common problem apparently with mk3/mk4 escorts like somebody has said already the silicone or original sealant around or under the f/box has perished.Ive sorted mine now with new sealant and all appears ok.But mine must have gone unnoticed cos i had to weld a small bit metal to cover hole.Atb Colin135.
