Two of my close friends have had engine failures with Arrow rods bending, fact
Arrow machine the centre section of the H rod too deep close to the bottom shell area which causes them to bend under high load
Farndon do not machine as deep on their rods due to experience
Farndon rods are heavier but stronger
I have a custom Farndon crank and rods myself and the quality is very good
As for the cranks, Farndon have been making cranks for years, A few years ago a guy called doug kiddie who worked for Farndon set up on his own making cranks.
A few years ago Doug Kiddie sold the outfit to arrow who where a con rod manufacturer to get them into the crank business.
Due to the buy out all the machines were relocated to the arrow factory but rumour has it few of the experienced machinists moved with the equipment.
Thats why in my opinion Arrow have only a handfull of years experience with making cranks.
And also the fact they usually try and charge twice the price of Farndon for them.
Swindon Race Engines have a state of the art machine for making cranks but the price will be high, cosworth has crank making facilities also
