Engine and distributor timing
I've fitted the bottom end of the engine into my car and hopefully will be fitting the head this evening, I've set the camshafts and No1 piston to TDC so the head is ready to go on but am a little confused as to how to set the distributor. Is the arrow that's cast into one of the holes on the auxiliary pulley wheel anything to do with the timing or is it irrelevant where it points to as long as the rotor arm is lined up with the mark on the dizzy housing? I can't really see any marks that the arrow should be pointing to although in the manual it appears that it is used as some sort of reference position.
