This car was formally known as ''B3EWY''
Here is my ford escort rs turbo, ive owned it about 10 months now and after lots of hassle and expense its finally running as it should.
unfortunately i really cant afford to keep it as i also have to run a van to do a 40 mile roundtrip to work everyday.im planning on selling the rs and my turbo diesel van, which will be listed for sale aswell and buying a golf GT TDI, so id consider a swap for one.OR MAYBE SOMETHING ELSE DIESEL
since buying this car ive had nothing but problems with the engine as most people on passionford will know, but i finally bit the bullet and fitted my rebuilt engine in it and a very good condition 2nd hand turbocharger.
spec:
rebuilt series one cylinder head with all new valves and stem seals,
kent cvh 35 camshaft,
kent vernier pulley,
rebuilt bottom end with new shells and piston rings,
the pistons are aparently uprated, i couldnt indentify them but they are not standard pistons, they are ever so slightly domed up,only very slightly tho and with only inlet valve cut outs.i was told they are saab pistons but i cant confirm this,
mongoose exhaust system,
ahmed bayjoo 'chipped' ecu,
stage 1 turbocharger,
-31 actuator,
k&n air filter,
brand new front mount intercooler,
brand new slimline fan,
spax 60mm adjustable suspension,
its had some polybushing on the front end,
ebc green stuff pads,
drilled and grooved discs,
cat 1 alarm,
the car itself is in very good condition, theres a couple of very small rust spots as to be expected of a car this age but nothing that really stands out at all.
it was resprayed about 6 years ago and had new rear arches fitted, and the paint is in a very good condition, very bright radiant red and is always regularly polished up.
the interior is in good condition also and is 90 spec, although it could do with a new carpet.
the only things that need doing on this car is the speedo is not working,i changed the clocks as the numbers had started to flake off and i dont think i clipped the speedo cable back in properly, could do with a new parcel shelf as it was butchered for 6x9 speakers by a previous owner, driver side footwell speaker cover is missing, the fuel gauge has been abit up and down since i changed the clocks over,it works but sometimes goes up and down, it was fine until i changed the clocks over, i will throw the old clocks in with the car also.when started from cold it sometimes turns over a few times before fireing up.but always starts, just being as honest as i can, when warm it starts on the button.
this is an excellent car and only needs a few bits doing inside the car as ive mentioned.
the car has done about 400 miles since the rebuild and im still running it in, boost is set at about 10psi at the moment for running in purposes,so it needs to have everything set up, air/fuel etc by a tuner to get the best out of it.
the hardwork has been done and is now ready for someone else to enjoy!!
i have lots of receipts for the car from over the years in a folder.
when i bought the car it had the number plate B3EWY on it,which has now been removed and sold, so lots of receipts have this number plate on, but ive managed to get the original plate back for it aswell G911TTA.
tax is up at end of the month,
mot runs out next month i think,(if i get full asking price i will stick a years mot on it once its been viewed and a sale agreed) i know it will go straight thru the mot so no problem there.
