As Glen said above, I have just had a new alternator on my S2, used one off a XR2i, being EFI and full electrics helped as I thin kit was better than the one on my S2! Agree with the statement about fitting it, had to take the casing off my old one and put it onto the 2i one because the mounting points are different and it would nt fit on properly, still got there in the end. It has solved my problem with dim display also, it was my alternator shagged and battery too. Also my alt that was knackerd was a french make velio? The 2i one is genuine ford
