First thing with the Ka is to check the wiring that runs from the back of the alternator towards the front panel , these have a smart charge system controlled by the ECU , and it is sometimes these wires that break that causes lack of charge , you can even get a repair loom from Ford as it is such a bad issue that just solders in and replaces that part of the loom .
