OOPS.!!! wrong hoverport ,wrong era'....I must have put 20yrs onto your age
by assuming you travelled from RAMSGATE as we did. I think we'd moved from
the South East to Cornwall long before the Dover / Calais service began,so
Dover didn't enter into the equation... However my wife reminded me that
our eldest son used the Dover route when travelling back to Germany when he
was with BFPO, sometime in the '80's...
Yea.. your "Very Nearly" right, .. only another 23yrs to become a "TON UP
CABBIER" . The cabby should still be going strong by then ,she's just clocked
her first 42700 and in my opinion is in absolutely great condition. So far I
haven't found a rust spot anywhere, and the paint work in the engine comp'
is even better than her exterior. She's in far better nick than I,can't see my
engine or bodywork lasting much more than the next few laps!! But Hey,Ho,
When I wake her from her winter slumber in the next few weeks we'll do a
"Ton Together" again....assuming these new EBC brake assemblies, complete
with the "GRAISSE CUIVRE" pass that French MOT test....

grin:
Cheers, Rustler.. "The Oldest Cabbier"
