My workshop is 20 miles away from my house, and I go there at least a couple of times a week, which is a fiver or so in fuel for the round trip everytime, I quite like the idea of building something that can do at least 50mph (if I take the A road instead of the motorway that would be bearable) for 50 miles on electric to do the drive in instead and it cost 50p, dont really want a bike as not exactly easy to do stuff like take some tools or a jack I might want or whatever and crap in winter for weather, plus often my mrs goes with me as well and electric bikes with my 16 stone and her 9 stone on would start to lose range anyway as you are so limited on the amount of batteries you can fit.
Plus I just want to do a car "just because" TBH
Not really about the cost saving though as I realise that it will cost several thousand quid to build, which is a hell of a lot of 5 pound trips before you get anywhere near braking even, just fancy doing it for the fun of doing it really, and at least the fuel saving would mean that I would get some of the cash back.
Not looking to do it till at least next year anyway, so just want to read up in the mean time.
