well it was mot time today for the old 3 door and its failed on emmisions which i knew it was going to as ive just fitted a new msd chip and had not got round to setting it up yet
so i pulled the ecu for a play while it had the probe up its arse and it started at 7% i tweaked it a little and got it to 5.5% but wouldnt go any lower
i then did the reset thingy! 5 turns clockwise 2 turns anti and it went to 10%!! i now cannot get it below 8% for love nor money (actually fluctuating between 8 and 10)
its a 4x4 engine with l8 and 2wd loom, i have rewired the tps last time i checked it had appropriate readings at full throttle and idle on the tps and a smooth transition between the two
its had in the last few weeks
new cts
crank sensor gapped correct
phase sensor gapped correct
dizzy cap
plugs (standard ford gapped at 0.6mm)
rotor arm
act sensor? (brown one in manifold)
basically a full sensor kit from matt lewis bar the map and tps
its an l8 stage 3 chip for 500 cooler 3 bar map 803's and t3 turbo

any ideas what can be causing it, i would have called msd but they were closed by the time i was mot'ing it so couldnt!
