Exactly what he ^^ said, the remote key has the transponder inside the key, the blue part on top of the other key is the transponder.

So long as you have taken the transponder from your key and from what I understand this wasen't changed so it shoulden't have effected it.

I was working on someones this week (Galaxy) and with these when you split the key the transponder can fall out if your not careful so make this has not happened!
