Yes dosen't sound right, with the Amal you have three ports, R,C,A, one pipe comes from the Compressor housing to the Amal and another from the valve to the actuator, the third is the bleed pipe which vents to atmosphere (Or to airbox which most don't have)

The thing that "tees" then together isn't a bleed valve you are referring to is it?
