Default Running Without an Amal Valve, Question?

Quick question for people who might know,

I've recently bought a car, which is running a gt30 & autronic management, i'm currently getting things ready to put it on the road next weekend & while having a quick poke around things at the weekend noticed that it wasn't running an amal valve, and wondered if i should worry?
The pipe that comes from the actuator is tee'd into the pipe that comes off the snail of the turbo, then both pipes are just vented to atmosphere.

I know these are usually routed to the amal valve, but on this they obviously aren't, does anyone know the reason for this? Are these pipes actually taking a reference pressure from atmosphere etc?

The cars booked in for a set-up in a couple of weeks, but i obviously don't want to drive it if this is going to do it harm.

thanks in advance for any input.
