Thanks for the reply. I have pushed it through the hole in the gearbox end and it is still located there. The cable is a 4x4 one I bought from MSD and it arrived today.

When the cable is pushed through the bulkhead I attached it to the clutch pedal then attempted to tension it by holding the pedal up as far as it will go then pushed the toothed wheel back. It clicks for a couple of pumps of the pedal, tensions but the gear will not select. When I pump again the tension releases.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
