Default Project x2:Escort XR3i and Sierra XR4x4

Being a sucker for punishment, I have got rid of a couple of modern cars and bought two/three old Fords!

Here are a couple of pictures:

The Ford Sierra is 89G. I am the second owner and it has done the grand total of 15300 miles. Even though it has no dinks, dents, rust etc I want to try my hand at concourse and so need a new parcel shelf and original radio for the car......And a lot of hard work judging by the standard of cars I have seen on this forum , over the last few months. Also as a concourse virgin, I do not know what to expect!

The A reg Escort has done 94K miles and is brilliant, whilst the C reg has done only 45K miles and is a complete dog, soon to be put down . However, it has an uncracked dash and pristine steering wheel . Both cars are low owners FSH, but the difference in condition has to be seen to be believed.

Collected the latter car from Yorkshire last Friday and if any of you were south bound on the M1 and noticed two fast Fords on the side of the motorway in the evening, that was me and the missus! The Escort expired 30 miles after collection and was bought home by Greenflag. The guy who bought it is putting a Cossie 4wd chassis onto an Escort RS Turbo base, so he was one of the few people I would find interesting at 3.30am in the morning when the car arrived in Surrey!

Both cars a are totally standard bar the Sierra stereo and I want to keep it that way, as I am getting a bit old to go the modded route.

Also, I know nothing about mechanics, so I will keep you posted on the costs of getting and keeping both cars as close to a concours standard as I can.

Hope to you soon and please give me loads of tips...I think I will need it!
