I know of a Zetec turbo with low comp pistons running OFAB without a chip at all. Fuel pressure was adjusted and checked just using a set of det cans.

Runs 23 psi and is quick. And before people suggest it will blow up soon (as I did!) it's been running like that for 2 years and has done around 10,000 miles like that!
