Pioneer or Alpine from experience. Was a big Kenwood fan for years but of late their units feel very cheap.

Sony in my experience sound naff and flat and JVC are just cheap tat that I would only use to line my dustbin with.

With headunits you do get what you pay for, don't need to go mad though.
