Have a look under the car at the engine mount on the drivers side. There is an engine mount there.
This is the one that gets extended approx 15mm. Easy to see if it's been welded up. Mines was like this too and it affected my gear change. I stuck a standard mount on and reangled my down pipe to suit. It worked a treat.
I have since changed the down pipe to a 4-2-1 set up.
Has the lip on your tunnel been cut back where the exhaust starts to go under the car from the bulk head, If so my down pipe would likely fit your car, It's got a lambda boss welded in also. Yours for £40 notes if you collect it.
