Default After an 18 month resto booooom!! update

Yep first day out with the cossie yesterday and boom, blew the headgasket and radiator apart, Ive taken a few pics of the gasket and also the block, the closer pic of the block is where i laid a straight edge acorss it and i could get a 2thou feeler gauge under it so am i right in thinking the block needs decking to be perfect for a multi layer gasket?

The head is currently with the machine shop for a light skim and pressure test as when i replaced the gasket with a YB1261 about 15 miles ago the coolant sytsem seemed slightly pressurised just with it ticking over, now obviously this could be down to a cracker head or just the fact the block and head arnt completely flat ?

My dilema is that after spending all this time and effort on the car what do i do if it needs a new head as ive spent enough on it already, at the moment its just a skim, block decked and build back up with some new gaskets etc so im happy to do that but dont know if i can justify the cost of a new head ?

Now i know its my fault really it went yesterday for using the normal gasket over a multilayer with a GT30 but people said on here that they use group a etc up to like 400 bhp but obviously not in my case, but on a good note christ it was bloody fast
