the trouble with the putties is that if you do it on the outside it always looks s**t , and you do not want to put it on the inside in case it falls off and gets into places that you dont want it .

Your choices are a replacement , or get it welded , remember you should drill either end of the crack to prevent it continuing then get someone to run a weld along it , then you can clean it up and it will look the bis
